Expected Behaviors
- Respect for other patrons and staff
- Reasonable noise levels appropriate to library activities
- Proper care of library materials and facilities
- Following staff instructions and posted guidelines
Important: Rude, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Any child or adult displaying these behaviors may be asked to leave the library.
Safety & Supervision
We encourage families and youth to use the library, but we hold parents and caregivers responsible for their child’s safety and behavior.
Supervision Requirements
Children Under 13
Children who are unable or unwilling to care for themselves may not be left alone in the library or on library grounds at any time. They must have adequate supervision from a parent or caregiver.
Youth 13 and Older
Minors thirteen (13) and over may use the library unattended for a period of time appropriate to their age and maturity level.
Definition: An unattended child is a child of any age who is apparently unaccompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Adults who cannot care for themselves independently, without the constant attention of a caregiver, may not be left alone in the library or on library grounds at any time and must have adequate supervision from a caregiver at all times.
